The important details

Pupils are tasked with producing a piece of artwork (painting, drawing, collage or video, for example) or writing (a poem, story or song) based on their learning in the core resources while showcasing the job roles and opportunities available.

The brief:

Pupils should be encouraged to reflect on the jobs they have learnt about.

Challenge pupils to think about:
  • the wide range of jobs in the NHS
  • the fact that anyone can do any role in the NHS, regardless of gender or background
  • surprising facts they have collected
  • how the NHS has helped them, one of their friends or family.
Pupils can enter individually or as a pair.

Entries must be received no later than 23:59 on Tuesday 30 April 2024.

  • Overall national winner(s) will have their entry displayed publicly for their local community to see. They will also each receive Amazon vouchers worth £50, an NHS goody bag and a framed certificate. Overall national winner(s) will also receive a class prize which will be discussed with the winning school.
  • Regional winners will each receive an Amazon voucher worth £25, an NHS goody bag and a certificate.
  • One highly commended certificate per entry will be awarded to the top entries per region.

  • One certificate for best school entry will be awarded to each school who has no regional winners or highly commended entrants.

  • Winners will have their entries showcased in an online gallery.
  • Whether they enter individually or as a pair, each pupil will receive a prize if their entry is chosen.

40%: Understanding of NHS careers
  • Are the pupils aware of the range of NHS careers and services?
10%: Challenging stereotypes
  • Have the pupils demonstrated in their entry that they have learned about challenging gender stereotypes?
50%: Creativity
