Introducing the competition

Get started by showing this video to your students to introduce them to the NHS and inspire them to create a fun and unique job advertisement for an NHS role. The video tells them what they need to do to enter. There are exciting prizes to be won!

Introduce the competition

First, introduce the competition to your students by showing them the competition video and handing out the student briefing sheet.

Step 1: The discovery phase

Students discover the breadth of careers in the NHS and select one to research in-depth. Contains PowerPoint slides showing employee portraits and differentiated practice sheets, as well as links to useful online tools.

Step 2: Understanding the job

Students learn what a job description is and research the skills, experience and qualities needed for their chosen role. Contains a job description activity sheet, guidance and glossary.

Step 3: The job advertisement

Students create a fun, lively and unique job advertisement to tell other young people about their chosen role. Remember, it should show the research students completed in step two. Contains PowerPoint slides of previous entries and job advertisement guidance.

Enter the competition
